Matthew Lloyd was remembered in the AFL/VFL as an all time great. He is ranked the seventh highest goal kicking in the AFL/VFL history, kicking a whopping 926 goals in only 270 games. Scoring over 100 goals in a season twice in his career.
His career highlights include being in the 2000 premiership team, included in the All-Astralian team in 1998,1999,2000,2001. Matthew Lloyd has also won the Jim Stynes award in 2001, while winning the colemen medal 2000,2001,2003, and winning essendon leading goal kicker 1997,2005, 2007 and 2009.
