Tim Watson

 Tim Watson was born on the 13th of July 1961.  He is a former great of the AFL playing for Essendon Football Club from 1977-1991 then making a comeback in 1993-1994. he played a whopping 305 games, and kicked 335 goals. His career highlights include winning Essendon's Best and Fairest in 1980, 1985, 1988 and 1989. He also played in the Essendon's winning Premierships in 1984, 1985, 1993. Tim Watson was their captain 1989-1991.

Tim was the fourth youngest in the league history. He grew up in the country town of  Dimboola. Tim Watson now works as a commentator for the Football on channel seven's coverage.


Essendon's Year so far!




Essendons leading goal kicker this year was Stewart Crameri, he kicked 32 goals. Jobe Watson recently took up the role as Essendons captain. He won the 2012 Brownlow Medal. Jobe also made the 2012 All-Australian team for the AFL. Recently the trading season started. We happily accepted a 4 year deal with St Kilda's Brendon Goddard. Essendon recently finished 11th in the AFL ladder. But they had a great start to the season winning 8 out of their first 9 matches.

Matthew Lloyd

Matthew Lloyd was remembered in the AFL/VFL as an all time great. He is  ranked the seventh highest goal kicking in the AFL/VFL history, kicking a whopping 926 goals in only 270 games. Scoring over 100 goals in a season twice in his career.

 
His career highlights include being in the 2000 premiership team, included in the All-Astralian team in 1998,1999,2000,2001. Matthew Lloyd has also won the Jim Stynes award in 2001, while winning the colemen medal 2000,2001,2003, and winning essendon leading goal kicker 1997,2005, 2007 and 2009.

Essendon Football Club


Essendon is a 16 time premiership team. With Essendons newly appointed coach James Hird they were sitting in the top 3 at the start of the season. 9 wins and 1 loss since round 10 they were on fire. Until they were cursed with injuries and did not make the finals.James Hird played 253 games at the club, and kicked 343 goals. Essendon highest score ever was 32 goals 16 behinds creating a total of 208 points.
